Look at this marvel of engineering! TenneT is building a new offshore energy transformation station in the North Sea, approximately 20 kilometers off the coast of Egmond aan Zee, and we’re filming the entire process. In this video, you can see how the topside for transformer station Hollandse Kust Noord is installed, on top of the jacket that has been installed earlier in the seabed. Next year, TenneT will transport sustainable wind energy ashore through this station, providing 700 megawatts of green energy for households, businesses, and industry. Besides all the renewable energy, the station will also function as a Maritime Information Service Point for Rijkswaterstaat. Radars and meteorological and ecological monitoring systems will tell us a lot more about climate, biodiversity, and movement on the North Sea. We love to be at the forefront of the energy transition. Especially when it implies filming on the North Sea and engineering that tries to co-exist with nature. And even better, we love to show this process to you. Enjoy the video!
